Favor Finished

Well, one of the things that I've had on my working To-Do list was my fiance's favor that I had started for him so that he could wear my colors while out fighting on the field.

Finally after fussing with the embroidering of the needle and getting it to look semi-decent, it's DONE!

Now I can move to the next project and start work on that tomorrow. WHEW!

Decisions to make....

So I'm in the midst of looking at different button types to use on the shoulders of my gown that I've had on hold for forever. Coronation is in two months and I have commissions that I need to get working on so this gown needs to be completed and finalized so I can get it DONE...and to clear the working table. LOL!!!

So these are the buttons I'm looking at for this gown. I'm leaning towards the first one with my favorite fleur to be honest. However, the smaller second button is slightly appealing as well.

Making Some Progress

So now that I think I've got the neckline figured out a bit better, I'm making much faster progress on getting these pieces of Roman garb sewn together and finished.

Definitely a good thing with the timeline that I'm dealing with right now because we leave on the 23rd to drive to my fiance's family's house to do tilework..and then from there it's Pennsic or bust.

So far so good on the Roman pieces...let's keep hoping I can keep this pace up. :)

Tick..Tock....time never waits... I've got two pieces of Roman garb done and five more to go.  I've finished a friend's apron dress and still need to do her under tunic for the outfit and a young lady's tunic as well.

And I have until the evening of the 22nd to get it all done AND be packed for Pennsic.

I'm determined to have the Roman garb this year for working because I'm not just there to lay about but to physically work in a booth full of fabric and help customers like I did last year.  This year however, I'm making sure to wear THE most comfy outfits while I'm doing it!!

Did I also mention I was determined to make sure they were cool to handle the Pennsic humidity and heat as well???

Yeah..I would have to say that's pretty important for me. LOL

Most of the Roman's are out of colored gauze which should be okay.  I'm hoping they won't be TOO see through and I'll be wearing my palla with my outfits for the most part when I'm out and about so in case the sun peeks through my garment...that should help me not be VERY visible to others. LOL

Here's to hoping.  I'll have to post pics soon if I can or get pictures done at Pennsic and post those later on.

Pennsic is hovering around the corner.

I thought that I was going to have enough time to sew the things I want to wear at Pennsic with little to no rush.

THEN I realized I have 11 days...ELEVEN days before we have to leave to head towards Pennsic and stop to visit some family on the way and help do some work there.

ACK!!!!  I'm going with mostly Roman/Greek clothing this time since I will be working a great deal in the fabric booth for Carolina Calicoes.  Hopefully I can get this all done. LOL

Never enough time to sew it seems.

Coronation has come and gone and I did get a few things updated for the event like I had wanted.

Naturally that meant staying up till 2 am on the day of the event. *wry smile*

At least a few things were done though. I got the partlet handsewn, the sleeves to the brown Italian gown updated with new loops and trim.

I need to post pics of the gown really. Then again...there never seems to be enough time lately.
